The following links are to digital files representative of each of the trails described on SweetSingletrack.ca They are recorded in the universal GPS file format, known as .GPX. Files in this digital format can be downloaded and installed onto many GPS enabled devices. Feel free to sample as many as you like, but I ask that you do not repost them to any commercial sites such as 'everytrail.com' etc. Web browsers differ in how they handle these files; Internet Explorer 8 makes a mess of them, IE11 works fairly well. Google Chrome works perfectly. If using Internet Explorer 8 or below, one has to tweak their PC to show hidden file extensions, and then rename files and file extensions; a technical hurdle for most computer users. I suggest that you simply download and install the free Google Chrome web browser and use that for the task. With Chrome, right-click on any link below and select 'Save Link As'. You will see the file presented at the lower, left-hand side of the browser window as it downloads. These files are specifically formatted to be used on hand-held GPS-enabled devices - however, if you own a commercial application such as Garmin's 'MapSource', you may view them by double-clicking on the file once it has successfully downloaded. Attempting to open any of these files without installing GPS application software on your computer will result in you seeing 'garblygook' on your screen. If you already own a hand-held GPS device, then you will have a GPS application on CDROM, provided to you by the GPS manufacturer - install it now. Apex Ski Resort (summer) Campbell Mt.
