Second only to the joy I find in time spent outdoors,
I revel in introducing people to outdoor adventures. That
mentality pretty much sums up
the spirit of this website; a hope that it will encourage many others to discover
the fulfillment that I find in wandering the Okanagan Valley's many singletrack trail systems.
Though I’ve been fortunate enough to live coast to coast and numerous
points between, it was a brief childhood stay in British Columbia which
stuck with me no matter where I subsequently lived or traveled. In 1985 I
packed what I considered valuable and moved back to the one province that I
couldn’t shake from my memory. Thanks to the warm welcome I received by
everyone I met, and a wealth of opportunities that came my way, I’ve been
a British Columbian ever since.
In my early 20’s I discovered that gravity
sports were my calling, and spent the next decade working at various BC ski
resorts, grabbing every opportunity to snowboard, hike and bike. I somehow managed to survive the recklessness of youth and returned to the Okanagan
Valley where I attained post-secondary education and met my wonderful life
partner, Louise - my best friend, who helps me every step of the way.
As far back as I can remember I’ve loved to roam
the forests, dog at my side, curiosity driving me to learn what was over the
next hill. The only things that have changed are the canine companionship and my
diversification into snowshoeing and mountain-biking.
I am a computer technician by trade, but my true passion is
exploration of the outdoors via woodland trails. This website is a personal travelogue
of sorts; one I take great joy in sharing with all of you!
Pick a trip from the many described here, pack up your gear
and
get yourself out there; I promise that you will find the experience to be
the best part of your week!
